We have all been somewhere we are not supposed to be, right? As a teenager, the coolest thing to do and possibly the most stupid thing to do is enter private property and look for cursed places that are full of ghosts, human sacrifice and OMG spooky graffiti!!!!
Here is where my rant comes in...
As a teen, how easy it must be to Google haunts and attractions? Hell, as a kid, it was word of mouth and that alone. But, it seems that kids can find places to vandelize and potentially get hurt, even killed at... why? Because STUPID irresponsible "ghost hunters" have the shit on the internet.
First, why are "ghost hunters" giving so much credit to teenaged urban legends? Are they bored or what? Second, why are they posting this crap on the internet?
This particular case well, a family friend, her kid just ended up at the "Purple Church". random link 1 random link 2 random link 3 Random link 4 and so on....
This particular place is on private land. People in the area are know to "shoot first, ask questions later" as they protect their "herb garden". This kid was caught at the "Purple Church" this past weekend. Of course, I get a phone call stating "What is the Purple Church". I have to explain that it's just a foundation with a mini-basement with graffiti all over it indicating that it's "satanic". It's not paranormal unless you are stupid enough to believe it is. It's dangerous and should not be posted anywhere on the internet as a "popular haunt".
What is wrong with today's "professional ghost hunters" where they post locations on the internet. Some resources have people going all different directions, in the meantime private property is being envaded as these dumb assed kids that watch too much TV go search for these places.
Resources such as www.ghostvillage.com Click here to read entire thread
Not only are they allowing people to post information about locations on the internet for teens and idiotic children to go and destroy, graffiti and overall vandelise as they try to get a piece of ass. These places, in this particular thread are dangerous. Most are packed full of black mold, asbestos, broken floors, windows, holes, snakes and of course the local meth lab cooker. Websites like this that allowe turn by turn directions need to be stopped or at least addressed. Sure, the parents need to know where their kids are, but when you were 17 were you 100% honest about where you went to your parents? If so, good for you, that is rare! Anyway, the "moderator pops on eventually and states...
"We at Ghostvillage DO NOT condone any type of illegal activity, whether it is done in the pursuit of paranormal research or otherwise. With that being said, the Member Guidelines for the message boards have been updated to include number 7: Any post or material that contains a reference to any type of illegal activity (such as trespassing, use of illegal substances, or any other activity that is deemed illegal) shall be removed from the boards without warning. This means that if you post something that is illegal, your post or material will be removed from public view. You will not be given a warning, it will just be removed. No explanation will be given."
But, the turn by turn directions are still there?
I normally do not have a problem with exploration, but today's kids are influenced by TV and have no care in the word or respect for property, property owners and themselves. The "Ghost Hunters" that are out there exploiting locations, placing them on the internet does nothing but add to the thrill that these kids are seeking. "If the ghost hunters go there, it must be haunted?" As for the family friend that her 16 year old son visited the Purple Church, he now knows what a total dumbass he is. (I hope) and the mom knows that there are more dangers at risk than her son making contact with "satanic ghosts from 1982, that were also Iron Maiden fans"
People often question WHY some ghost hunters are NO LONGER posting cases on the internet. This is why! No matter how much work you do there or time you spend, some idiot kid will find it and repost it on places like Ghost Village and twist it into some big assed urban legend fit for future idiotic ghost hunters.

"We at Ghostvillage DO NOT condone any type of illegal activity.." but we will tell you that IF you go there PLEASE post your stupidity online. Also include any and all footage from the hospital, police station or mortuary.
Tools....
One of the local haunts was featured on Ghost Adventurers recently. I understand that when the crew was there the cops and EMTs were on standby.
Why?
1. it is county property.
2. the dangers of "black mold, asbestos, broken floors, windows, holes, snakes".
Obviously, there are more dangers than just trespassing. The cops have closed this place and others like it because of the danger they pose to the general public. And they obviously do it to protect YOU...the foolhardy teenager or so-called "investigator".
So, if you venture onto or into places you and/or others are not welcome; you do so at your OWN RISK! Remember...you risk arrest, lawsuit, OR WORSE!
If you absolutely, positively want to venture onto or into places like this try to get permission first! The worst they (owners or authorities) can do is say "No."
People...be RESPONSIBLE and USE YOUR HEADS!!
"...the dangers of "black mold, asbestos, broken floors, windows, holes, snakes" "
those are far scarier than any ghost, and i think the first comment's "tools" sums up the mindset nicely (the mindset of the people who put the info online and of the people who choose to go into those buildings)
