Earning it and earning popularity are two different things. Purchasing votes to win a fictional "Orbie" award celebration is never a good thing. So, over time we have just sat back, relaxed and watched this potential scam grow.
It's not personal, it's Paranormal.
The IPAA. org website so very trusting with that dot org after it huh? Almost makes one believe that the IPAA is some type of "non profit" organization. Well, the IPAA IS for profit.
Concept- As their NING community grows and nomination votes tally up the "who's who" in the paranormal field...well, we are now left wondering about the entire concept. Similar to the Ghost Divas Popularity contest we hosted, the IPAA is the same concept. Vote for those you feel are deserving in the field. Well, once you browse through the nominees, you might walk away feeling nauseas. From pink panty dropping skanks to no name yokels that are working to get a free trip to some "big city" to collect their "orbie" award. Orbie? Really? Anyway, these people have big dreams riding on this award. The coordinators of IPAA have a lot of planning to do with pulling this award ceremony off.
Cha-Ching! Money is the root of all evil. Money is also the root of the paranormal field. (well, to people that are wanting to win awards of course). The network is not just a network, it's a "send us your money" campaign because they need it ro run the NING website... which I will be generous, probably does not cost anymore than $75 a month to operate, that's with A LOT of bandwidth. The suggestion to "Dontate Money" now, is a joke. I have emailed Laura (operator) and have asked several times as to where the money goes. She has yet to respond. (will she ever?)
Big Dreams- It is also rumored that winners of IPAA awards will be flown in and put up, free of charge for their efforts, hard work and popularity in the paranormal field. Oh wait, is that a rumor or is that a fact? I have also heard rumors that winners are to pay for expenses on their own. IF they are able to arrive at the grand award ceremony (That has yet to be announced, right along with a date) they will have to pay for travel, lodging and probably a ticket. So, if you are an IPAA network member, FIND OUT what happens when you WIN your award. Will you really be treated like paranormal royalty? IPAA at this point is a nice little social network that is promising the world. If you are a member, find out where your money is going.
Cha-Ching Part 2- We are the "Ghost Divas". We have been asked to "host" the IPAA awards, will we? nope. Perhaps everyone should ask where their money is going... are they flying in big names, selling tickets at the door to meet and greet para-celebs? Are they flying in hosts and staff ? FIND OUT WHERE YOUR MONEY IS GOING. KEEP ASKING.
We are waiting for email responses concerning these issues.
Another "rumor" is that all your IPAA award ceremony donations have gone to build and fund the brand new Paranormal TV Network.
This brand new network is complete with "Pay per view" and places where you can purchase advertisements. $200 for one minute! What a Bargain for "internet" based bullshit that has the SMALLEST market in the WORLD aka "fans of paranormal shit".
Funny huh? When you click on the PAY PAL "Donate" now link to the Paranormal TV Network.. it takes you to the IPAA bank account.***scratches head**** It's the SAME pay Pal link as the IPAA site? WTF? Somethings... fishy!
"
PayPal securely processes donations for IPAA 2009. You can complete your payment with just a few clicks. "
Another funny thing is that Laura K, with the IPAA claims that she has no affiliation with the PTN. Well, she does. It's her baby, it's HERS.
So, I do need to ask EVERYONE that has joined the IPAA social network and those that have donated money or know of someone that has donated money to PLEASE contact Laura and FIND OUT where your money is going.
The IPAA awards ceremony has already been moved ONCE, it was supposed to have happened this September 2009. WILL it happen March 2010? Will YOU as a winner from bumbfuck nowhere get a plain ticket or will they pay Kristyn Panty Drop Gartlands way because she's WAS on TV. Will the entire butt kissing crew of Para-X radio get free tickets to wherever the hell it will be because they are "bff"?
YOU the investigator, YOU the ghost hunter, YOU the person that has paid your dues (literally) to win your spot in the IPAA Orbie award ceremony going to be treated as a winner or will you be asked to put MORE money forward so you can claim your BOGUS trophy?
FIND OUT and ASK QUESTIONS. If it were me, I would not donated a DIME until you find out, in writing where the money is going.
Speaking of dimes, the IPAA website states "Even if you give 1 dollar, it will help"... well, funny to me, you CAN NOT give ONE dollar, there is a $25 limit to donating.
Hummm...

STOP FRAUD in the Paranormal. NOBODY should EVER have to buy kudos in this field.
Want recognized... contact one of the million radio shows (even the ghost divas) if you rock, we are happy to celebrate it with ya!

Kudos should just be handed out, not sought after. If you're busy hoping to get recognized, then you're too busy to be focusing on what should be important - and that's not always the paranormal. This new realm of paracelebrity has me turned off in a big way and I truly look forward to the day when the popularity of those TV shows driving this all implodes, so that those left standing are the same who were standing before it all began.
You are all nasty people. When will you get it in your heads that people are sick of you and your negative remarks and outright attacks on the good people in this community. You have been doing this for YEARS! Get a life!!!
How about worrying more about Pastor Bob Hunnicut and his pedophile past as well as your own personal issues. Does the congregation at that church know what a nasty person he is? No need to take your bad feelings over those who abused you out on people who don't deserve it. I see you attack many groups and individuals and what you should be doing is looking in the mirror. Or maybe what you see there is just to horrific for you to contemplate.
I have no idea who this group is but your post made me want to run and find out because I know anyone you put down is either doing something positive or interesting enough to have you attack them. Thanks for the info I will make sure I do the opposite of what you all do because there's no way in hell I ever want to end up even remotely close to your persona. You people have no class and no integrity! Never have, never will!
Karma sucks so enjoy getting back ten times what you dish out to any of these poor people you pick on. Keep on supporting your pedophile and your other criminal offenders you surround yourselves with.
You are trash. Do the world a favor and your family and recycle yourselves.
Well, first of all, people clearly ARE NOT tired of what we do because we still have people thanking us daily for pointing out the shadiness in this field.
Secondly, anyone that doesn't have the balls to confront someone using their real name has absolutely nothing credible to say.
Doing something interesting or positive? You mean like taking peoples' money and not answering the questions about where it's going? Because that's all this is about.
Your comments are invalid and ignorant and not worth even addressing. Thanks for the effort, though. Hack.
Dear DumpsterDiva (great name that captures the image of you mindset)
The IPAA is a scam. Unless they share where the money is going, they are ripping people off. MANY people have emailed them and have not got a single response.
On the other hand, the new PTN website is being built. They are allowing political views from some hack on their network as he bashes America and is attempting to make listeners just as paranoid as he is. IPAA is PTN and they allow this douchebag on the air, although they are aware that he is lying about his "real radio" connections. He's not on the "real radio" anywhere. He's a liar and a fraud. The IPAA supports him 100% although they throw up a disclaimer. IPAA is milking the community for everything they can.
The issue is about the IPAA, not anything else that is taking place in the legal field aka the real world.
Anyone that supports the IPAA is supporting fraud and deception. It's that simple. People can ignore it and dream of the day of being a rich and famous ghost hunter or they can get a reality check and find out What kind of website IPAA really is.
We do not support frauds and charlatans in this field. That's it. We have watched long enough as the lie grows. Sure people have the right to give money to whoever they want, but the truth is, they are being lied and promised something that has yet (and probably never will) to happen.
Stupid people belong with IPAA and IPAA supporters and affiliates. That's where they belong, together. That way the rest of the field can know where they are to avoid them.
I think my biggest annoyance with this whole IPAA awards bullcrap is that people claim to be so honored that they are nominated for an award that allows you to initially nominate YOURSELF. How prestigious.
For example, Joe Clark of the Commonwealth Paranormal avidly posts about his nomination as a staple of his "success" in the paranormal field boasting about how he is one of the top 20 paranormal investigators. My only question is, according to whom? His team was featured on an episode of Paranormal State and all of a sudden they are successful?
A while back I nominated myself for every single category just to see if they would cancel or deny the nominations. I got accepted for every single nomination...including the female categories. I found it humorous.
The whole thing is a sham. Truly a sham. I am assuming dumpster divas is probably someone that was "nominated" for their extraordinary work in the paranormal, which ultimately means that they nominated themselves for the award because no one else knows who the fuck they are or really cares. Pretending that they don't know who this group is yet paying enough attention to what you have to say to comment about it.
There really needs to be a paranormal idiots awards ceremony. There are a lot more people to nominate in that category.
THIS JUST IN MY INBOX!
Apparently IPAA has swooshed together an online via webcam ceremony. I kind of feel bad for all those that will never walk the red carpet, hit the stage and thank all their fans.

That would be fun! lol
I joined this sire (IPAA) after receiving an invitation, but after being a member for a few months I am coming to the realization that I DON`T WANT TO BE A PART OF IT. Unfortunately I cannot find anywhere to close my account & no one from IPAA will return emails. That should be a red flag to anyone that, if a person, organization, or company, will not return phone calls or emails they are not credible.
By the way. I don`t know why it posted my name as Blair Witch. I guess I wont use my Google login anymore.
My name is Blair Jett from the REAL Paranormal Research Alliance at GhostHauntings.Org
Stopped by the read the comments....wow. I Joined IPAA thinking that it was a cool idea to gather all of us who are in this field to exchange ideas and yes, to get a little recognition, I mean some us have been doing this for decades. Long story short, I did win an award and no, I did not vote for myself. I did donate a little money to IPAA as I donate money $ to many paranormal research sites which have worked hard to gather information to share with the rest of us.
